Adam Plutko Recalled From Triple-A to Start Wednesday
7 years agoThe Cleveland Indians have called up Adam Plutko to start Wednesday's game against the Cubs. Plutko's last appearance for the Indians came on May 3 when he pitched 7 1/3 innings in Toronto. In that start, Plutko gave up only three runs, struck out six and earned the win. It seems that Cleveland is opting to remove Josh Tomlin from the starting rotation and give Plutko a chance to showcase his stuff before Danny Salazar returns from the disabled list. If Plutko impresses tonight, it is possible that he could earn himself a rotation spot in the case that Salazar faulters in his eventual return.
