Justin Smoak Getting A Day Of Rest Thursday
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak is not in the lineup on Thursday against starting picker Nick Tropeano and the Los Angeles Angels. Kendrys Morales will get the start at first base in his place. It sounds like a normal day of rest for Smoak, who has had a very underwhelming 2018, and could use a day off. With only six home runs this year, Smoak is far off the power surge he displayed in 2018. Other lineup news for this one includes Josh Donaldson starting at designated hitter in place of Morales, Yangervis Solarte playing the hot corner in place of Donaldson, and Luke Maile getting the start at catcher in Russell Martin’s stead.
