6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada had a good outing last week against the Oakland Athletics, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and zero walks with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings pitched. While he’d certainly like to replicate that against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday, that will be a tough task. The Athletics are a good offense, but the Angels are a slightly better one that strikes out a lot less. They rank eighth overall in runs scored, and 10th in team OPS – however, they also strike out the fifth-least in baseball, a total of 378 times. With Estrada’s skillset he’s always a solid start, but we wouldn’t expect him to truly build upon last week’s effort.--John Smith
