6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in Thursday's lineup. He will be replaced at first base by recently promoted utility man Brandon Dixon, who is batting seventh. Votto left a game early last week with lower back soreness, so it is not a surprise the Reds are giving him the day off the afternoon after they completed a 12-inning game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Expect Votto to be back out there on Friday.--Matt T - RotoBaller
