BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 16% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Texas Rangers utility player Jurickson Profar was once the top prospect in baseball and, after years of struggles, finally looks to have made his place in the Rangers' lineup. It may have taken an injury to Elvis Andrus, but Profar is now the everyday shortstop in Texas and has made the most of his opportunities. He only has a .233 batting average in May, but his slugging percentage for the month sits at .465.
Profar has a hit in six of his last seven games and has an extra-base hit in four consecutive games, tallying a home run, three runs scored, three doubles, and six RBI in his last four games. He also stole a base in consecutive games (May 20 and May 21), and has 14 extra-base hits this month. Profar has only walked in 4.3% of his plate appearances, leading to a .277 OBP, but his combination of power and speed is valuable to fantasy owners.
Of course, Andrus' return will see Profar in a bind for playing time, but his power stroke should keep him in the lineup. Between playing the outfield, shortstop, third base, and second base, Profar will not only find a way to get in the lineup, but will also gain valuable eligibility for fantasy purposes. He is a good addition in deeper leagues who may garner attention in shallower leagues.
