BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 14% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers utility player Niko Goodrum is hitless in four of his last five games, but his strong May should still have him owned in deeper leagues. He has four home runs, four doubles, and a stolen base this month, registering a .536 slugging percentage. Even in a weaker week, Goodrum still was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored, and two RBI on May 23.
Goodrum has a .278 BABIP this month, which is a bit unlikely considering that he has a 40% hard hit ball rate and only a 15% soft hit ball rate this month. An issue is that he only has a 15% line drive rate, but his 40% fly ball rate shows why he has been able to find his extra base stroke. While he only has one stolen base this month, remember that Goodrum has five stolen bases this season and had a stolen base in three consecutive games earlier this season.
The nicest thing about Goodrum is that he is able to play all over the field, as he has eligibility at 1B, 2B, 3B, and OF. it is good add a player like Goodrum in deeper leagues, as he could be a poor man's Marwin Gonzalez.
