6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce has been out for roughly a month due to a strained oblique, and it sounds as though he’ll be missing awhile more. Apparently, Pearce has barely shown any improvement, and as such, he’s still some time away from even beginning baseball activities. Pearce was productive prior to the injury, slashing .273/.333/.485 with three home runs and five doubles across 66 at-bats. However, when he does eventually return, Pearce will come back to a crowded outfield featuring the likes of Kevin Pillar, Curtis Granderson, Teoscar Hernandez, and Randal Grichuk. A viable fantasy option in short spurts, Pearce is not likely to have a clear shot at everyday playing time this season.--John Smith
