6 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman could begin a rehab assignment next week reports Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com. Zimmerman has been out since May 12 with back soreness, and Zuckerman reports that he has been working out with the team and will be reevaluated on Monday to potentially begin a rehab assignment. Prior to landing on the disabled list, Zimmerman had been underwhelming at the plate, hitting .217 with a .689 OPS, although he had hit five home runs in 125 plate appearances. Fantasy owners looking for a boost at corner infield might want to keep an eye on Zimmerman's rehab to see if he could find more success at the plate with the back problems behind him.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
