6 years agoChicago White Sox reliever Joakim Soria picked up his fifth save on Tuesday. Nate Jones had a disappointing outing in Game 1 of their doubleheader on Tuesday and that led to manager Rick Renteria going with Soria on Tuesday to record the final four outs in the second game. Jones pitched in the eighth inning of Game 1, which means that Soria likely would have been given the ninth inning in that game. The White Sox still do not have a clear choice at closer, but with Jones having an ugly outing and Soria only allowing a hit, it looks like Soria may have reclaimed the gig. The White Sox don’t win many games, though, and without a named closer their situation is one to avoid if you can. If owners are desperate for saves, Soria seems like the better choice.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
