Jay Bruce Picks Up Two Hits In Loss
6 years agoWe’ve seen a few small things here and there from New York Mets outfielder Jay Bruce to give us hope he was snapping out of his season-long funk, and Tuesday’s effort against the Baltimore Orioles was the latest demonstration. In a 2-1 loss, Bruce finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. It was Bruce’s first multi-hit game since May 27. The multiple base knocks are great, but we still need to see power out of his bat before we can start to truly get excited. He has two extra-base hits, both doubles, over his last 10 games and hasn’t hit a home run since May 7. Let’s see if he can at least keep picking up hits on Wednesday.
