Yoenis Cespedes May Not Need Rehab Games
6 years agoFor fantasy owners awaiting the return of New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hip), your wait may be a bit shorter than expected. According to Mets manager Mickey Callaway, Cespedes may not need any rehab games prior to his return to Queens. Cespedes, who has been on the disabled list since May 14 due to a strained right hip flexor, has instead been playing in simulated games and even hit against starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard on Tuesday at Citi Field. Obviously that’s great news, as it’s an indicator he may only be days away from a return. Prior to the injury, Yo was slashing .255/.316/.474 with eight home runs in 37 games this season.
