Curtis Granderson Breaks Slump With Home Run
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Curtis Granderson had been in a big slump as of late, going hitless in his last five games amidst a 1-for-21 overall skid. On Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles, he took a step forward to breaking out of that funk. In a 5-4 victory, Granderson finished 1-for-3 with a home run. It was the Grandyman’s fifth home run of the season. After a hot start, Granderson has watched his statistics plummet, but he’s also a very streaky player who will eventually go on a tear at some point. We’re certainly not ready to believe he’s about to get hot, but there’s no doubt Thursday was a good day for his chances. It is worth noting, though, that he has lost some playing time to Randal Grichuk in recent days, who just returned from the disabled list on June 1.
