BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 44% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Angels second baseman Ian Kinsler is only hitting .218 this season, but has been heating up lately. He had six stolen bases coming into the month of June, but has now hit four of his seven home runs this month and already has three multi-hit games. Kinsler has regained his lead off spot and has scored a run in four of seven games this month.
Kinsler has a .356 batting average over the last two weeks and has also walked more than he has struck out. He also had a home run, three runs scored, and three RBI on May 29 against the Tigers, the last game that he has not led off. Kinsler has a 46.5% hard hit ball rate in this relatively small sample size, hitting just 20.9% ground balls and 60.5% fly balls. While it is unlikely that he will continue to hit the ball in the air this frequently, the fact that he is hitting the ball this hard is positive.
While he is not that solid on paper, Kinsler has a great combination of power and speed and this may be the last opportunity to buy low. There are rarely players like Kinsler that are less than 50% owned this late in the season and he is worth a look as a MI at a minimum.
