Brian Anderson (3B/OF, MIA) - Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 20% of leagues

ANALYSIS: Miami Marlins third baseman/outfielder Brian Anderson has a six-game hitting streak and is now hitting .304 for the season. Over his hitting streak, Anderson has four multi-hit games and also has an extra-base hit in five of the six games. Since May 15, Anderson is hitting .370 with a .489 slugging percentage, 11 RBI, and 12 runs scored at the top of the Marlins lineup.

Anderson has a .458 BABIP over that time period, but also has eight extra-base hits and has a stellar 48% hard hit ball rate. He has a stellar 9.6% soft hit ball rate and, while he has hit 49.3% ground balls, he has also hit 20.5% line drives. While it is unlikely that he continues to have that low of a soft hit ball rate, it does show that the 2014 third-round pick does have the batted ball statistics to back up his high BABIP.

While the Marlins are not the most attractive team to target, the 25-year-old Anderson looks like the most attractive batter to own. He also has third base and outfield eligibility, making him more valuable in shallower leagues as well.
