6 years agoLos Angeles Angels star pitcher Shohei Ohtani (elbow) has been placed on the disabled list with a Grade 2 UCL sprain. He underwent a platelet-rich plasma and stem-cell injection on Thursday. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks. Nothing has been confirmed, but Ohtani could be out for quite a while. This is a devastating blow for the Angels and all of baseball, as Ohtani has been the most exciting player in the game. Expect Jaime Barria to lock down a permanent rotation spot in Ohtani's absence. Luis Valbuena may see more at-bats in Ohtani's absence as well.--patton
