Christian Yelich Continues To Be Top Option For Runs
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich went 2-for-5 with two runs, one home run and an RBI in the 12-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite Yelich having the potential to hit 100 RBI in a season, he has been primarily used as a two-hole hitter and has had relative success. In 201 at-bats this season, he is batting .303 with 39 runs, eight home runs, 27 RBI, seven stolen bases and an .861 OPS this year. The Brewers are a very top-heavy lineup with names like Travis Shaw, Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun, so naturally much of Yelich's offense will come from getting on base and having guys like Shaw drive him in. He is still most certainly a lock for 20 home runs this year along with well over 100 runs, and he could potentially hit 20 stolen bases if he continues to run. He will provide a mix of contact, power and speed and still holds true to his top-50 value.
