6 years agoChicago Cubs starter Jon Lester was excellent Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, allowing no runs in seven innings pitched. Lester fanned five batters and relinquished only one hit and two free passes. For the season, his ERA sits at 2.22 with a 1.09 WHIP. Lester's strikeouts are down this season (7.7 K/9) but he's returned to form after a disappointing 2017. He now has seven wins and has allowed more than three runs only twice in 13 starts. With a 1.40 ERA in his last six outings, Lester will look to keep the momentum going next weekend visiting the St. Louis Cardinals.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
