6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Jose Martinez has exceeded all expectations this year. He hit a home run on Monday night, bringing his total to 10 on the season. While his home run tally isn't that impressive, he has 42 RBI. He also has 36 runs. His .327 average is much higher than anyone could have predicted. His three-hit night on Monday helped lead the Cardinals to a much-needed win. Martinez has five home runs in as many contests. He currently has a nine-game hitting streak. Martinez continues to be one of the most productive hitters in all of baseball.--Blake Sullivan
