6 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Tyler Mahle put forth a solid effort on Wednesday against the Royals, earning his fifth win of the season in a 7-0 game. Mahle allowed no runs on three hits and two walks with one strikeout in 6 1/3 innings. The only thing fantasy owners could complain about would be the low strikeout number, but the Royals have struck out the least of any team in baseball and Mahle owns a respectable 8.16 K/9 rate on the season. They should instead be pleased by the fact that he avoided any damage from home runs, an issue that plagued him earlier in the season. The 23-year-old now has a 5-6 record with a 3.96 ERA in 75 innings pitched. He'll look to keep things going Wednesday in a favorable matchup with the Tigers.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
