6 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman (hand) was sent to the 10-day disabled list Friday to rest his right hand, per MLB.com's Jane Lee. An MRI revealed no structural damage in Chapman's hand but the team will be cautious with their top defender, as Chapman has been dealing with the issue since spring training. Franklin Barreto will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. The injury will come as a blow to the A's team and fantasy owners since Chapman was starting to figure things out at the plate in June, hitting .368.
