BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 19% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin has allowed two earned runs or less in each of the last three games, registering a quality start in two of those appearances. He has also won each of those three starts and has struck out at least five batters in four of his last five starts.
While Eflin has looked good of late, remember that Eflin had a three start streak to close May where he did not last five innings in any start. Eflin also has induced just 35.2% ground balls and has a 31% hard hit ball rate allowed, making his 69.6% strand rate seem to fall in line. He has a .295 BABIP because of his batted ball issues, but his 3.43 ERA is supported by a 3.06 FIP.
Eflin will make a start on Saturday in Washington against the Nationals, not the best of starts, but still one to monitor. He is a better pickup in deeper leagues and a good performance against the Nationals will keep him as a player to hold for the future.
