BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jon Jay was acquired by Arizona from the Royals earlier this season and has been a spark plug for his new team. The new leadoff hitter for the Diamondbacks had four consecutive multi-hit games from June 12-15 and has a .309 batting average in his time between the Royals and Diamondbacks.
Jay had a triple and home run in the aforementioned hot streak for Arizona, scoring six runs and driving in six runs. Considering his .078 isolated power and .368 BABIP, it is unlikely that Jay's hot streak continues, particularly with a 60.4% ground ball rate. He does have a 21.2% line drive rate and 35% hard hit ball rate for the season, but a ground ball rate over 60% will not maintain a high batting average.
With Jay hitting at the top of a Diamondbacks lineup that has been looking better, Jay will continue to produce. He is more of an option in deeper leagues now, but, if he continues to keep hitting well, he could be a decent option in more shallow leagues as well.
