BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario has seen a bit of a downturn in his statistics, as he only has two hits in his last five games. He hit .283 in the 2017 season and was also a .283 hitter through the month of April this season
Candelario hit .262 in May, and is hitting .179 thus far this month, but he does have a 38.8% hard hit ball rate since the beginning of May and has only hit 35% ground balls over that time span. In fact, since the beginning of the month, Candelario has a hard hit ball rate of 40.6% and 31.3% ground ball rate, showing that he is terribly unlucky. A .267 BABIP this month does show that, but Candelario is also not doing himself (or fantasy owners) any favors with a 37.5% K rate.
A cold streak like this for Candelario is actually a good thing, as fantasy owners will be able to capitalize on his upside. Considering that he will not be a .250 hitter for long, Candelario will be a nice addition as a CI in deeper leagues.
