Ian Kennedy Coughs Up Five Runs Monday
6 years agoKansas City Royals right-hander Ian Kennedy struggled in his start against the Texas Rangers on Monday. Kennedy allowed Texas to score five runs in six innings of work, striking out eight and walking three. Like usual, the home run ball is what led to most of Kennedy's struggles. He allowed two dingers in the game, a leadoff shot to Shin-Soo Choo and a three-run blast off the bat of Adrian Beltre in the third inning. The veteran right-hander has routinely been among the league leaders in homers allowed per nine innings over the past few seasons and that has been the case again in 2018. Kennedy now has a 5.31 ERA on the season and isn't much of a fantasy option, outside of using him as a streamer in favorable matchups.
