6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Francisco Liriano is nearing a return from the disabled list, and manager Ron Gardenhire says he will rejoin the starting rotation despite the stellar performance by Blaine Hardy in Liriano's absence. The veteran lefty is scheduled to start over the weekend against Cleveland, his first start since May 26. Hardy, meanwhile, will stay in the mix of the starting rotation, but will also be used out of the bullpen, according to Gardenhire. Liriano has a 3.90 ERA on the year over 57 2/3 innings. Hardy owns a 3.32 ERA over 43 1/3 innings.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
