6 years agoSan Diego Padres rookie starter Eric Lauer continued his strong stretch of starts Sunday, yielding one earned run in six frames against the San Francisco Giants. Tagged with a no-decision in an 11-inning game, Lauer struck out four on the day while allowing five hits and a walk. He's now surrendered three earned runs or less in six of his last seven outings with a 3.25 ERA in that span. Lauer's season numbers remain unimpressive, with a 5.05 ERA and 1.75 WHIP, but the Padres No. 12 prospect this offseason has rebounded admirably after a horrendous start to his major league career. With a decent 8.1 K/9 and improved mentality on the bump, Lauer could have streaming appeal in deep leagues and daily games.
