Clayton Richard Finally Stumbles
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Clayton Richard pitched seven innings and allowed four earned runs in Wednesday's loss against the Texas Rangers. He was in trouble often, conceding 10 hits and a walk while striking out only three. The outing was Richard's first poor showing in his last six starts and his season sits at a 4.29 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 7.1 K/9. Richard continues to gobble up innings, though, as Wednesday marked his 10th consecutive appearance lasting at least six frames. He wraps up an excellent June with a 4-1 record, 3.27 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Despite Wednesday's hiccup, Richard remains a viable, low-cost and widely available weekly fantasy streamer.
