BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of leagues
ANALYSIS: San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Sam Dyson appears to be the closer of the moment in San Francisco, making him a nice addition. Hunter Strickland will not available for the next month or so and Dyson seems to be the man to fit the role ahead of Tony Watson and Mark Melancon.
Dyson has a 3.35 ERA and three saves this season, bouncing back after a rough 2017 season saw him acquired by the Giants. He has allowed an earned run or more in three of his last five outings, but still has an elite 61.7% ground ball rate this season.
While Dyson is the closer in San Francisco, this is a very fluid situation and Watson or Melancon could easily unseat Dyson for the job. The former Rangers' closer Dyson does have more of an extensive track record than Watson, but Dyson also had a 6.09 ERA last season and Melancon has been an All-Star in the past. Even with his flaws, Dyson is the closer in San Francisco and should be owned until he stops getting save opportunities.
