Drew Pomeranz's Rehab Outing Ruined By Long Ball
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starter Drew Pomeranz (biceps) threw his first rehab start Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday and it did not go well. He scattered four hits (all homers) in 2 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and two walks while striking out two batters. Pomeranz has had a rough start to the season with a 1-3 record in eight starts and a 6.81 ERA, which is not encouraging that better days are ahead. Despite the lacking performance of the back end of the Red Sox rotation, Pomeranz has not demonstrated to be reliable to take over a spot successfully and can be left on waiver wires in most leagues for now.
