Scooter Gennett Launches Homer Wednesday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett was one of the few bright spots in his team's 19-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. Gennett went 3-for-5 with two runs and a solo homer in the sixth inning off of Adam Plutko. The veteran second baseman is putting together another excellent season at the plate, batting .326 with an .890 OPS, 15 homers, 58 runs, 59 RBI, and two steals. Gennett has proven that his 2017 breakout is no fluke and he can be treated as a top-end fantasy option going forward. He will be off on Thursday before his team opens up a weekend series with the St. Louis Cardinals.
