BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 41% of leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo has received a lot of playing time this season with Yoenis Cespedes currently on the disabled list and has made the most of his opportunities. The 25-year-old is hitting .254/.377/.504 on the season, with 13 home runs and seven stolen bases in 297 plate appearances.
Nimmo is entrenched as the leadoff hitter and has been capable in this role, even if his strikeout rate his jumped to 35.4% since the beginning of June. While Nimmo has struck out too much, and only has a walk rate of 9.5%, he also has seven home runs since the beginning of June. He has a 36.6% hard hit rate since the beginning of June, posting a 13.4% soft hit ball rate as well, but has also hit 51.9% ground balls in that time period.
While his ownership rate has ticked sharply upward since the beginning of the season, there is still an opportunity to grab Nimmo. A power-hitting leadoff hitter with speed is a good thing to buy into, no matter the offensive issues for the Mets.
