Joey Votto Ropes Two-Run Single Saturday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 2-for-5 with a two-run single, a double, a walk, and a run scored in his team's 8-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. The big night raises Votto's batting average to .290 with an .863 OPS, nine homers, 20 doubles, 54 runs, 50 RBI, and one steal on the season. While Votto isn't providing the power he did last season, he remains an on-base machine and is still one of the best pure hitters in all of baseball. Votto should be a buy-low target in fantasy leagues heading into the All-Star break. He will look to finish off the first half with a bang against Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas on Sunday.
