6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies appear to be leading the Manny Machado sweepstakes due to their willingness to include top pitching prospect Adonis Medina in a deal. Medina is currently the Phillies second best prospect and the 73rd best prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline. The 21-year old right-hander has yet to advance beyond high-A, but holds a 22-20 record with a 3.27 ERA and a 299/105 K/BB ratio over five minor league seasons. The Orioles are in need of high ceiling pitching prospects and Medina fits the bill. It seems almost inevitable that Machado is traded, and with the Phillies willing to include one of their best prospect, it appears that they are the most likely team to land the All-Star shortstop.--Dan Fappiano
