6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Marco Gonzales leads the team with 10 wins at the All-Star break of the season. Gonzales (10-5) has been a huge surprise for the Mariners this season for a player who has never started more than eight games at the big league level in his career. He has been an absolute innings eater, pitching six innings or more in 13 of his last 15 starts. The left-hander has enjoyed pitching at the friendly confines of Safeco Field. In nine starts at home this season, he is 4-1 with a 2.89 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Overall, Gonzales has been especially dominant lately, allowing only two runs over his last 22 innings pitched with 18 strikeouts.
