6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas (calf) will come off the disabled list to start against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. Vargas has been out since June 19 with a calf strain. When healthy, Vargas has struggled in 2018, pitching to a 2-6 record with a 8.60 ERA and a 32/14 K/BB ratio. He has shown no resemblance of his All-Star form in 2017 and is not a recommended streamer against a bad Padres team.--Dan Fappiano
