6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are reportedly seeing significant trade interest in starting pitcher Chris Archer. Archer is one of the best young pitchers available on the market and is under team control for another three seasons. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal notes however, that Archer needs to show that he has returned to pre-injury form in his final two starts before the deadline if he were to be moved. Archer has pitched to a 3-4 record with a 4.29 ERA and a 86/29 K/BB ratio in 2018. Teams like the Brewers have been linked to Archer in the past, but this time Rosenthal doesn't divulge any potential suitors. How Archer does in his next two starts will determine if he will be on the move prior to the July 31 trade deadline.--Dan Fappiano
