Cubs Heavily Interested In Zach Britton
6 years agoIt was recently reported that the Los Angeles Dodgers remain interested in acquiring Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton. According to The Athletic's Patrick Mooney, the Chicago Cubs are also highly involved on Britton and are deeply interested in acquiring him. In Chicago it's unkown if he would become the closer or if he would work as the setup man to Brandon Morrow. Regardless, he would give Chicago one of the better back ends off the bullpen in the league. Chicago won the 2016 World Series after acquiring Aroldis Chapman at the deadline and are attempting to do the same with Britton. With two playoff-bound teams involved, it looks as if Britton will be moved prior to the July 31 trade deadline.
