7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jedd Gyorko (illness), who was unavailable Saturday due to illness, could be available off the bench on Sunday. "Feeling much better today. We’ll continue to take his temperature, maybe literally, as the day goes," manager Mike Shildt said. Gyorko has been a part-time player for St. Louis this year and is hitting .244 with seven long balls and 30 RBI. He may see more playing time in the second half at the hot corner, though, with Shildt preferring to bench Jose Martinez at first base.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
