7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez (oblique) will throw a side session during the series against the Reds this week to see if he can return and start against the Rockies next week. Martinez injured himself in his first start of the second half last Thursday, but he's not expected to miss much time. He's sporting a 3.39 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and has 89 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings over 17 starts. With the game being at home against the Rockies, you'll probably want to throw Martinez back into your lineups if he returns by then.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
