Pirates Interested In Keone Kela
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly showing interest in Texas Rangers closer Keone Kela. Kela has pitched to a 3.18 record and a 41/12 K/BB ratio with 23 saves in 2018. In Pittsburgh, he would likely work as the setup man to closer Felipe Vazquez, limiting his fantasy appeal. The Pirates have surprised a bit in 2018 after trading Andrew McCutchen and Gerrit Cole, sitting just 3 1/2 games out of the second wild card spot. Clearly ownership is looking to improve their bullpen for a potential postseason run. As for Kela, he has seen interest from multiple teams around the league. It's looking likely that he is traded prior to the July 31 trade deadline.
