6 years agoHouston Astros catcher Max Stassi is currently in a 4-for-27 slump and is hitting only .216 through 37 at-bats in July. Stassi has only one extra-base hit this month and his .243 slugging percentage is a far cry from the .640 slugging he posted in May. The 27-year-old hit his way into an increased role on the roster this season and became the everyday catcher after the knee injury to veteran Brian McCann. But Stassi has failed to take the starting position and run with it, prompting the Astros to acquire defensive-minded catcher Martin Maldonado from the Angels. Stassi for the season is now slashing .240/.330/.434 with seven home runs, 12 doubles and 24 runs batted in through 175 at-bats.--Joey C - RotoBaller
