7 years agoThe San Francisco Giants placed first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) on the 10-day disabled list on Thursday with a hyperextended knee. Third baseman Evan Longoria (hand) was activated from the DL in a corresponding move. Pitcher Chris Stratton was also recalled from the minors, and infielder Kelby Tomlinson was optioned. The Giants indicated Wednesday that they didn't think Belt would miss much time, so hopefully for his owners he'll be back when eligible. He was hitting a solid .278 with 14 home runs and 43 RBI on the year. Longo should return to his everyday role at third base, with Pablo Sandoval possibly moving over to man first base.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
