7 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have emerged as the front-runners for Texas Rangers starting pitcher Cole Hamels, but the Atlanta Braves remain in the mix, according to sources. Hamels appears to be washed up at this point in his career, especially over his last five starts (10.23 ERA), but he's still striking out nine hitters per nine innings and would provide Atlanta with a proven playoff arm among all their youngsters. Moving to the National League East would also help Hamels get out of the gauntlet that is the American League West.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
