6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Denard Span has only four hits over his last 19 at-bats but is hitting .300 in the month of July heading into Monday night. Span has been a positive addition to the Mariners lineup since being acquired via trade and the left-handed hitting veteran is posting a .311 batting average against right-handed pitching this season. Span is also slashing .342/.447/.632 with runners in scoring position and has taken a more aggressive approach at the plate since joining the team. Span is a solid, yet unspectacular, player who does not possess an elite offensive skill.
