7 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) might need to undergo Tommy John surgery, which would put him out for the rest of this year and most of next. He is 3-2 with a 3.23 ERA in nine starts, but his stuff hasn't been the same since he returned from a right elbow sprain. The right-hander has gone 0-2 with a 6.86 ERA and 30 hits allowed in 21 innings over four starts since his initial return from the disabled list. "Nothing definitive," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Obviously there's concern there with the elbow, but it's not something that's been determined yet. With that said, it's fair to say there's quite a possibility he'll have surgery. A possibility, yeah." It's not looking good, so Cueto's fantasy owners should be prepared for the worst at this point and should already be making contingency plans.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
