7 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija (shoulder) will throw off a bullpen mound in Arizona on Thursday. The Shark is slowly coming along and won't be back in the rotation anytime soon. He last pitched in a game on July 14 against the A's and hasn't been effective this year with a 6.25 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings. He'll need to prove to fantasy owners that he's effective and healthy before they consider adding him back off the waiver wire.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
