7 years agoThe Boston Red Sox placed starting pitcher Chris Sale (shoulder) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with left shoulder inflammation. The team is recalling pitcher Brandon Workman from the minors in a corresponding move. Sale is an elite pitcher and fantasy commodity, so this is a big blow. The talented left-hander is a beast on the bump, going 11-4 with a 2.04 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and an astonishing 207 K's in 141 innings. His fantasy owners and the Red Sox will hope he won't have to miss much time. Brian Johnson is expected to start in Sale's place on Thursday against the Yankees, but you'll probably want to avoid him as a streamer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
