7 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) will throw a bullpen session on Saturday, according to manager Mike Scioscia. Ohtani is making progress after suffering a partially torn UCL in his right elbow. It's possible that he could make some more starts next month, but he can't afford any setbacks in his recovery. The Japanese two-way player has been much more valuable to the Angels and fantasy owners on the mound, so this is encouraging news. He's 4-1 with a 3.10 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 11.1 K/9 in nine starts. Ohtani had a two-homer game on Aug. 3 and has picked it up a bit since a bad July at the plate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
