7 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates placed infielder/outfielder Sean Rodriguez (abdomen) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a strained left abdomen. In a corresponding move, the team added shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria to the 25-man roster. It's unclear how long S-Rod will be out, but he wasn't helping fantasy owners at all this year with a .163/.276/.313 line to go along with just five home runs and 18 RBI. Hechavarria wasn't all that much better in 61 games for Tampa Bay, hitting .258 with three long balls and 26 RBI. He should function in a utility role for the Bucs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
