6 years agoOn Tuesday, Minnesota Twins left-hander Adalberto Mejia had an excellent start against the Cleveland Indians cut short by a strained left wrist. The lefty held Cleveland scoreless over five innings, allowing just two baserunners and striking out three, but he didn't come out for the sixth inning after throwing just 68 pitches. Manager Paul Molitor told reporters Mejia experienced “a stinging effect in the lower left forearm, closer to the wrist, that radiated up to the elbow.” According to reports, the team is not planning on having Mejia go for an MRI because he responded well to treatment on Tuesday night. It remains to be seen whether he is ready to take his next turn in the rotation. Mejia has pitched to a 2-0 record, 2.01 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings of work this season.--Matt T - RotoBaller
